Shaji Hassan, FCA/FLMI
Shaji is a Managing Partner of Antal International (Executive Head Hunting) and SHAW International (Training and Consultancy).
An experienced professional having 25+ years of experience in the role of COO, CFO with American Life and MetLife in Turkey (17 years) and Saudi Arabia (1.5 years). Prior to this he had worked as Audit Manager with KPMG in Dubai. Shaji has experience of working with diverse cultures and cross-functional management background and documented growth and efficiency resulting in increase in profits, top line, customer satisfaction and retention.
Serve as a catalyst for positive change and provide leadership based on inverted pyramid philosophy, infusing organization with customer centric policies and service as a top priority. A proven team player having a track record of managing the development and retention of talent achieving below average turnover and dealing with multilevel employees.
He has experience in the functional areas of Operations working as COO and Accounting, Finance and investment working as CFO. He has also participated in Due Diligence of three insurance companies in Turkey from the buyers side and also involved in the investigations, forensic accounting and setting of systems and procedures while working with KPMG
Andrew is a Managing Partner of Antal International (Executive Head Hunting) and SHAW International (Training and Consultancy).
Andrew has an international Sales and Marketing background. After qualifying in the UK and working as a sales person, then branch manager and sales trainer for an insurance Company, Andrew moved to AIG as Director distribution.
During his tenure with AIG he has moved between countries for a number of years including Pakistan, Turkey, Thailand and Singapore. After leaving he has worked in UK for Royal Bank of Scotland as Bancassurance director.
Currently he has settled in Turkey since the last two years and has been involved in English teaching business to the associates of corporates based in Istanbul and advising them on the matters relating to distribution operations etc.
Aşkın Düşündere, FLMI
Mr. Aşkın Düşündere started his insurance career as a management trainee at Türkiye Genel Sigorta in 1988. After having worked at various managerial positions in life and health insurance and pension branches at Mapfre Genel Sigorta AS, Mapfre Genel Yaşam Sigorta AS, and Garanti Hayat ve Emeklilik AS respectively, he worked as the COO of Cigna Finans Emeklilik ve Hayat AS since its establishment in 2007 until the end of 2013. In the meantime he served as a member and the president of the Life Insurance Research and Development Committee of the Turkish Insurance Association many years. Aşkın is a promoter of change management and he believes in the power of transparent communication.
Aşkın earned his fellowship (Fellow, Life Management Institute) from LOMA, based in Atlanta, USA in 2012. Aşkın served as the member of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Insurance Institute in the years of 2012 and 2013. He has been giving lectures on ERM, operational risk management, life insurance and private pension system applications at the Turkish Insurance Institute and at the Finance Institute of the Istanbul Ticaret University.
Starting his career in 1991, Volkan Terzioğlu was actively working in the Insurance market as a top manager since 2000 and as a business consultant since 2012. He started working in Halk Yaşam Sigorta’da (currently Allianz Yaşam ve Emeklilik) and continued on as a Assistant General Manager responsible of Technical and Actuarial Departments and IT in Bayındır Hayat Sigorta (currently Acıbadem Sağlık ve Hayat Sigorta). He was highly experienced in management under risky environments and managed mergers and acquisition projects within various insurance companies. During the entrance of foreign investment to the insurance market in late 2000’s, he took the responsibility of foreign relations whilst managing the technical department as the Assistant General Manager ad worked in compliance practice. He took the leading role of transforming the company into Ergo Emeklilik, a pension company and gathered the top quality and highly attention deserving human resources contributing the market for future executives each in their field. Volkan had also took a short time role as a CSO, responsible of the agencies distribution channel in Ergo Emeklilik and worked in campaign management, sales, product development and rewarding systems. As a result he succeeded in significant leaps in terms of production within the agencies, i.e. the main distribution channel of insurance products in the country.
Afterwards, he was appointed as the technical, actuarial and IT Assistant General Manager in Deniz Emeklilik in 2009. During the due diligence process of Metlife, he had been one of the major role takers in the acquisition and transformation of the company.
From 2012 on, Volkan is working as an insurance management consultant, first for a multinational consultancy firm and for an IT solution provider company for insurance companies. In January 2015, he joined to SHAW International (Training and Consultancy) as a managing partner and working in various business lines.
He is the graduate of Bogazici University with a degree of BE in Industrial Engineering and Marmara University Insurance Institute with a degree of MsC in Private Insurance.
